With a setting in the heart of the lush pine forests of Central Oregon, La Pine’s slogan says it all: “The Outdoors at Your Front Door.” Located on Highway 97 in the southern portion of Central Oregon, La Pine is a very outdoor-centric community with access to The Cascade Lakes, Crater Lake, Sunriver, Diamond Lake, Newberry Caldera and Paulina Lake all within an hour’s drive.

When travelling through La Pine you will see the highway lined with local restaurants and shops and find that most of the homes and neighborhoods are tucked back away from the main road. La Pine is a perfect location for farming, ranching or for those that enjoy the peace and quiet of Mother Nature. La Pine’s high desert climate offers plenty of sunshine all year round with cold winters and hot summers. The Little Deschutes and the major Deschutes Rivers are very close to town and allow for great fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, floating and fun. There are also opportunities for skiing, hunting, hiking, and mountain biking all around La Pine and the surrounding areas. You will find that with a population of fewer than 2000 people, La Pine is a very close-knit community with friendly faces and a strong local economy.
