Sunriver is located on the Deschutes River about 15 miles south of Bend on over 3000 acres of beautiful pine forests, lush meadows and pristine high desert country. Sunriver boasts 37 miles of private paved walkways networking throughout the community for bicycles and pedestrians alike. It also has two swimming pools, 26 tennis courts, several parks, and other common areas incorporated into the community. There are around 1500 year-round residents in Sunriver and during peak seasons the population can balloon to nearly 20,000.

Sunriver offers a multitude of options for outdoor activities including: hiking, fishing, paddling, kayaking, swimming, bird watching, tennis, skiing, horseback riding, biking, outdoor festivals and concerts, and of course, golf. There are three 18-hole golf courses in the area and Sunriver is only a 30-minute drive from Mt. Bachelor making it a great vacation destination all year round. Newberry Caldera and Paulina Lake flank the east side of Sunriver and are perfect for camping or an afternoon adventure.

Although Sunriver is unincorporated, it is self-governed and has all of the necessary services including a fire station, police department, post office, medical facilities, homeowner’s association and public works department.  It also has the Sunriver Village mall with local shops and restaurants, SHARC – a large aquatic & recreation center, and an airport for small private planes.
